OBJECT: "Junamo" Doll
ARTIST: Markus Amenanap
VILLAGE: Pupis
MATERIAL: Rattan
SIZE: 65"
DATE COLLECTED: 2001
COMMENTS: Used to protect the
longhouse. Put by the entrances to keep the evil
spirits away. This was by the door to the longhouse in
Pupis. When Iasked if they would like to sell they
laughed and said no they never sell these. Later they
came to me and had decided to sell only one as there
was another I inquired about and they said just the
one. |
