Travelling with the kids? Here are some tips to ward off the anxiey and help you organize your trip.

1. Keep them in mind. When taking small children on vacation, it's important to plan them into your activities. Most kids don't have patience for museums and historical visits. Check out the local children's activities and family events before you travel, and plan your day around these key activities.

2. Bring a busy box. Long rides in the plane, waiting on line, and sitting in a restaurant can create an agitating situation for both parents and small children. Pack a "busy bag" filled with things your kids can do while waiting: coloring supplies, snacks, games and toys.

Packing for your tropical vacation

Packing for your tropical vacation

Imagine this scenario. You've planned your tropical vacation, waited for months to finally be enjoying your time off, and suddenly you realized you've packed completely the wrong items…

Don't let this happen to you. Carefully consider the climate and topography of the place you'll be visiting. When travelling to a tropical location, be sure to take an extra bathing suit and a reserve pair of sunglasses. Buy sunscreen and mosquito repellent at home so you don't end up paying three times the price. Pack simply so that you aren't bogged down with so much luggage to carry and the potential to lose your stuff. (Remember, strangers don't care what you wear on your vacation.) Take a sweater for cool nights and leave those high heels and extra accessories at home — unless, of course, you're getting married.

A Honduras tropical vacation to Roatan is recommended as an off-the-beaten-path destination for summer travel. Located about 30 miles north of the Honduran mainland, this island is a dream destination for divers because it's circled by a living coral reef that extends directly from the shore.

This shallow water reef ecosystem is teeming with tropical marine life, and is easily accessible to both snorkelers and novice divers alike. The largest of the Honduras' Bay Islands, Roatan is no longer a well kept secret among diving fans and locals. As the number of tourists increase, the island is working through the grassroots Roatan Marine Park to preserve its environment while promoting sustainable growth. For example, guests at the all-inclusive Anthony's Key Resort can participate in government sanctioned recreational and educational dolphin programs.
